Evening,

My rear pads have rattled for ages which hasn't bothered me to much, but all this lovely weather and window down motoring has made it quite apparent that I should do something about it. I think I read on here once that this was fixable by a dab of silicon (?). Question is... Is that right, where do i dab, and how easy is it? Presumably I can do it without having to bleed brakes or any other such nasty job...

Cheers

Joe

I am fitting some anti rattle springs today, along with some CL RC8 rear pads, I will post pics of them.

Cheers, I'd be very interested to hear how easy they are to fit. Otherwise I'll have to drive with the windows up again, and that spoils a lot of the fun.

I went to fit the springs myself that separate the pads but didn't realise until looking for the thousandths time that my rear calipers have the anti rattle clip already. Maybe as its the later car that it was a a design change via AP

A mate has the same rear calipers as us on a BMW LS, and thats where i spotted these more traditional type spring retainers, rather than the Biro springs.

Biro springs very good. I brought them at an extortionate rate but have no need for them. I thought they would be stainless but they are not so can't see them lasting long.

Did you manage to get the retainer seperatley?

Fitted the new pads this evening, the new discs we had made are looking really good, they have done a few miles and a track day with RC6 compound pads and are untouched, these RC8's with slicks on this weekend may test them though!!

Hi Brummie

Do you have a part number for those AP anti rattle springs. TVR Power have them but £10 a pair seems a bit steep.

Any ideas what else they might fit?

Thanks

Ed
