So, a 2 hour cross country jaunt in 30 degrees, got very hot but not overheated. I allowed the car to cool down then left it and wandred off to find my campsite. All fine until I went to plug in a air bed pump into the cigerette lighter (no problems with the phone charger on the way). Suddenly the dash lit up, wipers started, hazards on, drivers door not unlocking properly, etc...

Any ideas?

Not very helpful here but:
Welcome to TVR ownership...

(Check the fuses, the pump might have caused an overload?)

Yes.... I had this. You've popped the fag lighter fuse.

The valeter mixed my van & car one's up once & it did exactly the same as yours. Whilst the van one only blew the car's fuse, the car's lighter attacked a passenger in the van. It reached temperature & launched itself from the dashboard, in to his lap.

Excellent, I remember this story of mixed up lighters now! So, who can tell me where the fag lighter fuse is?

All sorted now. How can one blown fuse cause so much chaos? Madness!

Hopefully Mr Edgar reads this and takes note for future reference.

Thanks again all.
