I'm wanting to upgrade the stereo and/or speakers in my car as the sound quality is poor. Does anyone have any recommendations for a knowledgable local place who can supply and fit for me?

I don't profess to be an expert or have experience with many local places but if you are willing to consider Dewsbury the chaos at Pro Acoustic did a nice job on my Supra.

I'm starting to think these might not exist any more. The website is still live but I sent an email which I've had a permanent delivery failure reply to. No answer on the phone either (although it was a Sunday)

It's a while since I've been up that way - a member here, Samuel Ellis, put me onto it (on another forum) so he might have more info... having said this the last I saw he'd filled his car with large speakers so might have blown his head apart.

I've been to Halfords today to look at a few stereos. There were a couple reduced from £199 to £99 which did everything I'd need. Then there was this one http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/... which threw in a bit of a spanner. I presume it's worth having digital radio, but the options they suggested for the additional aerial really didn't appeal.
Apparently it's either a stick inside the windscreen thing which sounded not that discreet, or something that fits to the outside that gives better reception but you have to remove it every time you leave the car as there's nothing to prevent someone pinching it.
Are these really the only options?

I'd be interested to know of anywhere who could kit out a Duster. Thinking about getting one for lugging the kids and stuff about but has no radio. Quite fancy pumping it up with DVD players for them in the back

Pro acoustics have recently moved buildings and are now in Cleckheaton so calls may be missed etc while they are moving. Best things is just to nip down and see them
