My temperature guage has been playing up for years on my Griff 500 but has finally packed up completely which is a bit disconserting when driving in case it means no water!

I believe the sender unit is on the inlet manifold behind the distributor. Is this right?

Also does anyone know what the resistance of the unit should be at normal temperature as I believe all the gauge is doing is showing the curent resistance of the sender. So I should be able to test it using a resistance meter.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the post, I was really hoping just to replace the sender TVR installed and not have to bother with calibration etc. The chances of the Range Rover sensor not being suspect after 14 years are pretty slim also.
