To me, they looked the same, I am sure they are different undereath? but what about visual changes on exterior?

Just out of the curiousity, my neighbour across the street have jaguar of that type but unsure what mark is it...

Rear end of body is rounder - all side and rear windows are smaller - spats to rear wheel openings - narrower rear axle..........

Changes from Mk.I to Mk.II:

Grille gained a wider central rib instead of all the same like an XK150's.
All windows larger, the door glass has separate chromed frames instead of the door metal continuing around the glass.
Rear wheel spats (if fitted) have a notch in the bottom to clear the spinners on the optional wires.
Different lights and badging at the back.

Mk 2 has disc brakes and optional 3.8 engine, as well as 2.4 and 3.4. Also a Daimler version with the delightful 2.5 V8.

Most Mk I models had disc brakes.

Only the very early 2.4 litre model had closed rear spats.

Probably best to compare pics, to see the differences.

And the Mk 2:
