As he ^ said, depends who did the work.

I would regap plugs at 6,000, change at 12,000.

Tappets - The bible (and also the Haynes Granada manual) says check and adjust at 6,000.

Hope this helps

fine its just that the car i bought had just been serviced by the main dealer , and these two items have not been done , plugs not gapped and tappets not done , which for the cost i thought would have been done , still perhaps i'm expecting too much ..

The bible says

" 6,000 mile service.........

Check & readjust valve tappet clearances.......

clean/adjust spark plugs. Renew if necassary"

You've been had - check evrything else as plug gaps are one of the more basis and easier tasks - IYGMD
