Waterski in the UK - Where?

Was planning to go to windermere tomorrow but have been advised the wardens now police the speed limit with HD binoculars. Risk of prosecution is now too high which is a shame. Even when wake boarding at 17-20mph.

Are there any alternatives? I go to Loch Lomond a few times a year but it is too far for a day out (6 hours each way). I'm based in Staffordshire but willing to travel a few hours.

Want a big open lake not a small club lake.

There is the National Watersports Centre which is in the midlands, other than that, the sea?

Do you want to waterski or drive the boat so to speak?

Both which is proving to be a problem. I've got to spend a few days with friends driving so they get a feel for the boat before anyone can tow me.

Havnt found anywhere for today so goong to the pub with said mates instead. The windermere thing is bloody rediculous. Looks like even the Keep Windermere Alive Association have given up on it. Not used the boat at all this year.

Any more suggestions would be appreciated. I don't think there is anywhere though.

Sea isn't usually flat, prefer fresh water to salt but can't have it all I suppose.

Think I'm going to leave it til I go to Loch Lomond in August. Either that or don a balaclava, attack Windermere and flee when the wardens arrive.

Didn't Chasewater re open? I think an area is bouyed of in Southampton Water.
