Just looking at options for next car, I've always quite fancied the C63, I note it now comes with a power upgrade, some fancy bits and also options for a performance chassis.

Anyone had a go, worth the extra?

Cheers,

HBT

Given how much C63's like to light up the rear tyres, there is an argument that this car doesn't need any more power. hehe

There is a rumour that this one has no morr power than the outgoing PP+. A few have dynod at around 505bhp as standard. Unless of course the new 507 is actually more like 530.

When I get mine I'm planning on popping down to Surrey rolling road and getting it dyno'd.

Are you going for AMG performance suspension pack as well?

No, the spec is:

Polar White
Black Wheels
LSD
Harmon Kardon
Privacy Glass

I had a Rs4 with the Sports Suspension and it was okay but annoying over imperfections in the road and then when compared to a M3 I then realised that the sports suspension was too hard - so didn't want to risk it on C63 but I haven't been able to compare a c63 with or without.

Car is meant to be build complete August 5th, so I will pick it up with the new reg in September.

I was thinking the same, I considered it because I do like to go on track days and the performance chassis will come into it's own there, but realistically its not very regular and for the most part I'm driving on roads or worse stuck in traffic. Do you sacrifice enjoying the car for 90% of its life ont he road for 10% of fun on a track.

Similar usage to me - 2-3 track days a year, rest of time commuting to work in traffic.

I drove a PP car at Brooklands once and it instantly felt harsher than my M3 but considering the sales guy told me it didn't have PP (red calipers, 19" wheels, boot spoiler) I didn't bother to find out if it had the suspension also. It may have because the only other C63 I have driven was a non PP car and I thought it felt very comfortable.

too late now anyway smile

I have this option on mine, be warned this makes the car's ride very firm.

MB Chelsea has a grey estate. Looks very purposeful with the extra bonnnet vents, 19" wheels and beefy brakes.

Do you regret it or are the performance gains enough to live with it?

I read it gives a lot more grip and doesn't loose traction at the rear quite so much when driven in anger.

Are you talking about the AMG locking diff or the AMG performance suspension?

Suspension, think the DIFF is a no brainer.

I have the performance suspension option and I don't regret speccing it for one second! It's clearly personal preference as to what is acceptable in terms of a harsh ride, but it really sharpens up the chassis and allows for flat cornering. The ride is on the firm side (probably equivalent to the Sport EDC setting on an E92 M3) but I think it's fine.
