Hi Was anybody else at Silverstone today, had a great day out in my M3 Cab, great value £39.00 per 30mins national circuit track. New tyres needed but great fun
Were you in the M3 that I helped jump start in the morning? I was in the yellow MX5, I think there was also a M3 Cab flying around in my session (11:20).Fantastic fun for £39. Even with some aggressive driving it has literally taken no noticeable tread off the tyres and brakes were good to go again at the end of the 30 minutes.
We were there yesterday with the Lad in the Black Twingo in the 15:20 session..

yep... i was at the 3:20 session in the white M3...
You need to work on your etiquite sir. I have on film someone moving over for you in a slower car and you choosing not to pass until the corner! Appreciate that the taster sessions are for learning but passing in a corner is a big no-no! Your car sounded awesome though, as did the M5 tearing round!geeks said:

Thanks...Yep, I know the situation you mean... we were getting a bit close to the corner, so I didnt want to overtake... I therefore slowed down and stayed behind the other car (hoping he would return to the racing line), then the guy in the other car slowed down some more (assuming I would pass etc), and in the end, I passed him right before (or even at the begining of) the bend... unintentional, honest!
That M5 sounded great when giving it the beans...!

Fairplay, thing is its a taster session so everyone is learning the rules. Thing is if no one says anything how do we all learn! No harm done, guy was happy to listen to an M3 growling next to him anyway, came back off circuit full of grins, his instructor was really pleased with him and the car too!Yep, I know the situation you mean... we were getting a bit close to the corner, so I didnt want to overtake... Did you clock the TVR that broke down on the following session?

No... missed that as had to dash back to London straight after... as for learning things... having enough fuel is high up on the list for me from this taster session.Did you clock the TVR that broke down on the following session?
Started the session on just about half a tank; 8 MPG @ 25 mins later I had to come back in a few mins early as I ended up with 4 miles left on the range, and had to essentially coast to Towcester to fill up!
Think the next track "day" I would do would be slower... less top end; more about the corners.

For me its all about the corners - Im happy to short shift a bit on the straights and spend my laps really trying to tie together the corners. Maybe I'm just a bit of a wimp though
Some chums and I did this as a bit of a birthday celebration. We were on at 1045, bit of a mix of cars. Focus ST170 for me, but we also had a TVR Chim, 350Z, Touraeg, a Leon TDI, a 306 XSI and a Rover 75 Diesel
This is the second one of these sessions I've done and it was cracking, just enough time to have fun before you start getting cocky and ruining your brakes/suspension on a road car.
There's a few pictures kicking around from our session if anyone's interested? The Rover had a camera on it too
