any one know the history of this convertable.

A friend of mine came across this in Malaysia, owner acquired it this way, not for sale, but my friend iw working on it, any one know who made these? B pillar looks a bit ropy,

I bet it does. Better have a closer look at the rest too. That must have been chopped up a long time ago.
Looks like a BLMC 1300 to me...

I'm pretty sure there was a Crayford conversion for the 11/1300 so this could well be one of those.

I said it would be a Crawford if anything, owner thinks it was made by bmc that way, I'm not looking at it, to many projects already, but in a country with no road salt and 50pound a week for a decent mechanic it is not beyond repair

I think it's unlikely to be a Crayford as they were based on 2 door's ,whereas this appears to have been a 4 door. More likely to be homemade ,possibly by one of those 50 quid a week mechanics!

Good point, I did think it was based on a 2 door but then forgot to apply logic to the suggestion of Crayford. Does seem strange to base it on a 4 door shell.

Agreed, no road salt but my memory of Malaysia was of high humidity and considerable (warm) rain!

Still, £50 a week for a mechanic would definitely compensate.

dont be too sure of that, ive had mechanics not worth £50 a week
