Can anyone tell me how these are attached? I have been through the bible and nothing is mentioned about the way these connect to the bonnet. Its difficult to get a decent look without taking the bonnet off and that something I really don't want to do unless I must.

Is that the hose on the battery side of the bonnet...

If it is, it is held in place at the front of the bonnet by a jubilee clip.

Put car on axle stands and tilt bonnet up 90 deg. resting the nose on the ground, put blanket or something down to protect.

Access should be easy now

It looks as if the hose has something attached to it at the end. I'm guessing that this is part has come away from the underside of the bonnet....

It sounds as if the fibreglass "air collecting box" with the 2" spigot on it for the hose has come away from behind the air inlet grill.
If that's the case it may be easier to get the car up on ramps and see how your other one is fitted as on mine it looks to be fibreglassed in.
The pipe itself is held on with a jubilee clip but they do tend to pull off if the bonnet is opened beyond the normal position. It doesn't really matter though if its not connected as long as its not in the way of anything and points forward to the fresh air.

Mine were the same as John's: there's a collector fiberglassed to the bonnet just behind the front grill, and the hose just pushed onto this with a hose clip to secure it. Mine used to come off quite regularly when the bonnet was opened wide, and I agree it can be tricky to reach far enough to refit them.

I've removed the collectors on mine to free up space for the oil cooler and radiator duct, the hoses are now strapped to the chassis close to the hinges.

If it has come away from the bonnet then fiberglassing it back in place is firly easy (as long as you can get good access.) The comment about jacking the front so the bonnet hinges further should do the trick
