Career change, ideas?

As title really.
Quick background, I'm 26, work as a support worker specialising in working with children and young adults with additional support needs. A very satisfying but low paying job. There is no real career progression, main job is private 1-1. No pay rise in over 3 years and make just over minimum wage. 2nd job has lost 32% of budget and the supervisor rate is being cut to the same as normal support worker.
I have an HND in Architectutal technology but I hated it, autocad nearly caused me to walk away from it as i cannot really work it and sadly the job will involve it for everything in the future. I'm not taking it forward to uni as it would be a waste of time.
I've been doing the support worker job for 4 years now and I feel it's going nowhere and I need to do something better to start earning a proper wage and do down thing with my life.
IT skills are not a strong point but I work well with my hands and enjoy problem solving and learning new information.
I have thought about off shore work or train driver. Something that isn't a desk job as that would destroy me.
Is it too late/old to learn a trade? Cruise ship work?
I've even thought about emigrating to Canada or Australia for mining work etc.
The car is paid off in October and otherwise my outgoings are low and can be trimmed down further. I'm still living at home and only have the dog, no kids etc. I have a good savings amount ( 5 figures ) to help with training or such.
My mate and I are signing up to do next years Mongol rally to help with my urge for travel and to see the world.
What tips or ideas can people offer?
Does anyone have a job that could suit? Happy to move anywhere in the country for work.
