Got the f10 coming on a personal contract hire plan, and I know this great deal has been signed up by many pistonheaders

When asked by the insurance companies if you are the legal owner and are you the legal keeper, what do you reply?/ what is the truth? I`m I right in thinking I`m not the legal owner but am the legal keeper?

When I say I`m not the legal owner the premium shoots up

It depends if your name is on the V5.

With the BMW lease deals it is apparently. So you 'own' the vehicle.

side note. Go with BMW insurance. Great deal and no requirement for a tracker. That saves £500 form the get go.

You're the registered keeper of the vehicle on the pcp contract.

Personal Contract Hire is a personal lease, I have this on my M3 through BMW finance - you do not get the V5 and are not the registered owner (hence why you also get the tax disc sent through the post to you from BMW Finance).

I had no issues with insurance - wouldn't say it shot up.

If you have a PCP then yes you'll get the V5 if it's a lease either personal or through a business then no you won't and that in my experience can reduce the amount of insurers willing to quote, no idea why though?
