NEC Classic Show (Nov.) - anyone know what's happening ?

Has anyone involved with any of the clubs or traders heard anything from the "organisers" of this event recently ? The last thing I had from them was an offer of a club space, back at the beginning of June, with a promise that contracts etc. would follow.

Given that we used to have to sign contracts in May, I'm starting to think that the new show management team might be in trouble.

Following with interest as last year was a cracking show, very much looking forward to this year's one.

I'm not organising my club's stand but I'm sure the person who is has heard from the organisers fairly recently. I'd get in touch with them in case something has gone astray.

The club i am in (MTOC) have had our stand confirmation for a couple of month's now. We were also moved to a larger and better spot last week.

We are doing the ACOC stand this year and got the confirmation last week.

For The Sunbeam Lotus OC, we have a 3 car display area booked & all info received aok.

We asked to be moved to a different Club area & this has been accomodated.

We have been attending the NEC show for many years & everything seems to be fine as usual.

Message from the organisers.

Thanks for raising this - I believe that all the club contracts have been sent out, so if you have not received yours please can you email [e-mail] and Alison will be able to sort everything out for you.

Apparently, there is a delay because we're in the same hall as the Sporting Bears and the plan is having to be redrawn as the SB area expands...

Annoying, but I guess I can tolerate it in the name of a good cause.

that might be double speak for the organisers didn't allow enough room for the required area in the first place or they're trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot

I don't know this just being cynical from many years of attending shows as an exhibitor or part of

the SB agreed stand location has been changed very, very close to the opening day by . . . well I wont say who or I'll start ranting

and do you remember the year the organisers advertised the wrong date for the show?

the SB can only ask the organiser for what they need and be happy with what they get, often the two aren't the same

I know for a fact the SB event organisers are very respectful of the other clubs exhibiting
