I've been pottering around in the wedge these last few days, and gaining confidence,
Really quick car and tremendous fun, but I'm not feeling 100% safe, is it normal for the back end to be a bit Floaty?
I tend to back off on the right foot a bit, as I don't wanna end up in a field!!

Floaty?...If you mean unstable then i dont think so..I would be worried if my trailing arm set up was floaty..Not sure about the "A" frame design..I always thought they were more rigid than trailing arm?..I had a similar sensation when my trailing arm pins and mounts were shot and i had knackered UJ's..If you go over a bump at mid-high speed and the rear end feels like its swaying then i would check the half shaft UJ's..Rear suspension bushings..In fact the whole rear end just for peace of mind..Sorry dont mean to worry you but its worth checking...ZigaWell it's not that bad, it's kinda when I change gear, just a slight kick, I seem to remember my brothers Dolomite Sprint feeling similar.. I'm prob just to used to driving new cars if I'm honest, but will have a look anyway.
It's only done about 40 miles since it passed its MOT, so fingers crossed its just me :/

I have found an effect where the back end tends to step to the side if you go over a small bump while cornering, which can be a bit unnerving until you get used to it. I used to put it down to trailing arm but the 400SX does it a bit, too.
Mine does that a little also if cornering and goes over a bump but at present i have a culmination of worn lower suspension bushes..Worn diff cradle front bush..A tiny amount of play in the UJ's even though they are about a year old..But have new wheel bearings and re-torqued hub nuts so the movement is very small..At least not as scary as previously very worn UJ's...But if its doing it in a straight line and is caused by accelerating and de-accelerating then i would suspect somethings not right..It might be better if you can ask a friendly MOT station to pop it up on an arm lift and have a good look with them...ZigaGassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
