Window issue :grumpy:
Discussion
Drivers side window managed to die whilst in the fully up position, preventing me from opening or closing the door without bending the glass to clear the roof and rubber thingamyjig. When I press the 'down' button there is a slight electrical click, but no movement. When I press the 'up' button, nothing. Door button works fine. I've checked the right hand window fuse no.7 and that looks fine. I've had the door cards off both sides, taken the drivers side solenoid off and plugged it into the passenger side and it works fine, so it's not the solenoid. So it's the lead not getting power up to the solenoid? The connectors seem fine, dry and good seal, so it has to be elsewhere in the wiring I think, or possibly the button itself (although I doubt that, as there is an audible if slight click). Someone said that there is a part in the actual door lock which tells the window to drop down when the door buttons are pressed, or up when the door is slammed shut. Could someone clarify? Would this be somehow connected to the power lead to the solenoid? I'm baffled. I usually undertake no work of my own on the car and take it to the professionals, but unfortunately my local TVR specialist has fallen out with me because the big lucrative jobs go to STR8SIX
Any help will be much appreciated.

Switch on dash can stick in - especially in hot weather. Does the top switch look like it may not have released?
This was my problem. Could well be heat.Edited by TVR_owner on Tuesday 23 July 16:58
If not, take the ECU out from under the passenger footwell, then plug back in. May do the trick.

I have just taken mine in for the same thing , the up button doesn't work , Paul at ppc says its quite a common problem the panel at the back of the buttons has to be sent away to repaired , apparently the panel is hard to come by now . In typical, mysterious, bizarre and inexplicable TVR fashion, the window has righted itself now. Unbelievable.
I now have to spend the next couple of hours putting the door cards and glove box back in
Oh well, I'll take the opportunity to clean everything up and sort out the odd rattle. Any advice on what type of contact glue to stick the rubber lining back onto the inner door with? Thanks guy's.
