When I announced to this forum that I was looking for a car to preserve (As that time I was trying to start a small museum) I got so much flack from this forum that I should not get one they were for racing and there is a shortage and people want them.
Well I have decide to sell it now and what's the response?
From what your comments were previously you would think I would have my hand snapped of with people wanting it!
Well now just two people want it and they don't want to spend anymore than £10K
If that's the case then I think it can just sit and rot!

most people on this forum already own tvrs and quite a few have tuscans,and are passionate about them hence the attitude towards not racing the cars,its also not really a good time to sell as most people will probably be looking at the end of the season to either upgrade to a tuscan or buy with a view to sorting over winter for next season, be patient and it will definately sell.
but be positive!talk like that even in jest to a reasonably small tvr community will not help your sale.
if i had the money i would buy it tomorrow! but unlike some on here two tvr's is enough for me at the moment unless you want a straight swap for a mint griff ?

How much did you buy it for?
What have you done to it to make it win races?
When was the last time you used it?
When was the last time it raced.
Why do you think your car is worth more than the market value of a Tuscan which has recently done all of the above?
The reality is that a tuscan is a horrible road car. It is a fabulous race car when properly prepped and in good condition and as per any race car is only as good as the last time it was on circuit. The paint can be as shiny as you like but its all about provenance with race cars and under your tenure-ship your car has none!
At the time you were determined you wanted a shining example of a race tuscan. If YOU are so much of a TVR enthusiast then why are YOU so keen to sell?
Nobody forced you to buy the car you now own, So either shut your face and wait patiently for another knacker with more money than sense to turn up and buy your car or drop your price to a level where a proper racer is prepared to take on your car and give it the refresh it deserves!!

Woo tiger the car will sell its just not the right time, 8 months ago there where three people fighting over a certain group A Tuscan and as we go into the off season i'm sure interest will pick up.
As someone who has recently re-commisioned a Tuscan i can verify it's not f cheap and i think Mark had it worse than me with Martins car which was fresh of the grid so as others have said any buyer will be taking that into consideration!

If (and it's a big IF) I had the finances to race a TVR Tuscan, I would definitely be in the market - there are people out there but it's very tough times and people have to look at all angles AND, no doubt Christian can add, they need to do A LOT of homework before they jump in, even if they've owned TVRs for a few years.
Your attitude on the original post is pretty piss poor imho to any prospective buyer, especially if they don;t know you

I am . . . but as has been said - to recommission a car that's been dormant for a while costs time and money (& I'm not referring to my recent engine rebuild either) & its a niche market too. A fair price for a running car with recent racing provenance is what is being asked for Short's old car now - so its too much imho. Ignore the £10k chancers Mr Tank . . . its worth nearer £20k. Good luck 
Just watching it for the sport at the moment, although the next thread will get nuked and a certain someone will be headed for a spell in the sin bin 
As to the car, the market is small, and buyers scarce. the price is right though and when a serious buyer comes along it will sell. I doubt dropping the price would increase the market so its just a waiting game.. middle of the season tends not to be when people are looking either..
As has been said though it will take a fair bit of recommisioning.

I suspect Mr Tank is more than a bit upset at the hit on price he's having to eat too, as well as his aspirations of finding a ready & waiting buyer. I looked at that car at Fred's and was offered it (with or without engine). I know what Fred's price was then, so I assume the hit is why Mr Tank sounds a tad bitter at the moment.
