I am thinking of changing my air filters for two K&N filters anyone know where the filters are installed on a 4.3 Vantage.

Are any specialist tools required ?

Many thanks

Yup.
They are behind the headlights. You can either remove the wheels and arch liners or the tray.

Where are you getting the filters from, there seems to be little after market consumables available for these cars.

There are two on eBay at the moment and I have been told you can get the K&N ones from paramount performance.

Might not bother now knowing I have to get under the wheel arches.

If you look under the bonnet, you can see where the induction pipes come from that link to the inlet manifold.
The pipes go behind the lights and the airboxes are almost the lowest part underneath.
Using a lift is the best bet or its a big, long job.

John

I have K&N filters for sale - I never fitted them to my V8V before I sold it, would be happy to sell them to you at a good price!

Let me know, Ollie.

I have decided not to bother now.

I assumed, like on all the other cars I have had that swopping the air filters would be a two minute job.

Thanks anyway.

I dont think the type of panel filter will make any difference anyway. Im sure they change the actual filter type or the airboxes completely for the N400 and other high performance variants

e.g

do the job properly and there might be some real power gains to be had, but I wouldnt bother spending the labour time on just swapping panel filter...

Never bothered in the end and no longer have the Vantage.
