2011 Caterham Fuel Pump

Can anyone recommend the best way to modify a Sigma fuel pump to prevent it snapping in two please (2011 Caterham Academy car)?

Thinking of drilling a few small holes in the central section and using pop rivets to secure the two halves together but that will stop the bottom section from rising up when the tank is full... Is that going to present any problems please?
