Cerbera speed six engine .....help

Hi guys
After loads Of advice n guidance! My cerbera speed six broke down on me last Friday . First of all you will have to excuse me as I'm not technical with cars just know how to drive my beloved cerbera . Always loved tvrs and decided sod it you only live once so purchased the cerbera speed six last july. its the most fantastic car going and always been a fav of mine.
It had an engine rebuild in 2005 from tvr power of Coventry. Anyhow the tension on the chain went causing the chain to damage the pistons and all the other bits that it damages with it. My garage guy who I trust n have know for many years spoke to tvr and they said £2500 to fix it. I do not have the funds so am going to speak to my bank for loan to get it fixed( hopefully they say yes if not ..... That's life no point in worrying about it life's too short)
I'm Looking to see if there's anybody out there who might take it on as a project or do you think I'm better off taking it to tvr to get it done! I'm waiting for all the technical jargon from my mechanic then ill post on here so people can see what needs doing. Either way the car will get done just don't know when but will not ever sell it as its been my dream car. I need to sell some of my wooden carvings that I do guys. Take a look you never know you might be interested as these are totally different and one offs www.insculptart.com

Mo, Sorry to hear of your bad luck.
I would suggest that you contact Dom at TVR Power - in Coventry, so not a million miles from you, and ask if he can help in any way. If you've had any time on these forums, you'll know how well regarded Dom and his company is.
To be fair to both yourself and 'Power', you must be able to demonstrate that the car has been regularly serviced. The timing chain can snap, but it usually gives (audible) warning signs before impending disaster. I would query this with your mechanic?
I would also add that the price quoted may be for parts only. Broken engine internals usually have a habit of finding their way into the oil supply, causing other damage. Whilst I don't want to be a doom monger, I feel you need to get the car to a TVR specialist and have the engine thoroughly inspected for top and bottom end damage.
