Hi All,
I have been posting a few bits for a few weeks now so thanks for the advice/help.
In the end I went for a more expensive one but decided what the hell, might as well get one with all the bits! The place I bought it gave me a good trade in value (this ended up killing a lot of deals for me, Merc in Bath offered me a MAX of £17k anf in the end got closer to £27k.......) and delivered from over 250 miles away so I was happy!
The spec:
White (never had a white car so nice to move away from black!) with black leather
late 2010 with 9000 miles, 6 months Merc warranty remaining
Performance pack
LSD
HK sound
I have had my C63 for a week now and wanted to post my initial thoughts.
Good:
As everyone says the sound of this car is amazing and I find myself driving around with the windows down and enjoying it. Can be VERY loud at times and gets a lot of attention
The looks - love the way this car looks, very aggressive and imo looks amazing in white
Handling - feels like a much smaller car and havent gone crazy with ti yet but so far not too many traction issues and only lost the back end a couple of times. Very nimble through the corners and really easy to chuck about. Constantly brings a smile to my face!
Speed - God damn its fast! I have always had very fast cars but this feel faster, the way it delivers power is simply amazing. Just keep on coming and pulls like a steam train!
Practicality - I can get all the kids in (a little squished but possible!) and a weeks shopping so all good!
Attention - seems to get way more attention than any other car I have had which is really odd, I thought it was just a fast Merc but I have had a lot of positive comments.
The bad:
Fuel consumption - well it aint good! I didn't expect much so not the end of the world, had 22-23 on a run and otherwise averaging 14-15 so not bad for what it is and better than my last car! Overall I am fine with it but cant go in the good column!
The Ride - can be a little harsh, would have been nice to have an AMG button that made everything sport and wasnt on was a little more comfortable. It is a small price to pay for all its abilities but probably the most uncomfortable car I have owned for long journeys.
The sound - not sure if it isnt a little TOO loud at times. At full tilt you can hear it about a mile away which is OK but not always necessary/needed. Maybe like on the 911 an exhaust button might have been a good idea?
HK sound - it really isnt very good, I passed on a couple of really good cars because they didnt have this option. If I had my time again I wouldnt insist on it and would have some after market speakers put in myself. I use the B&O system in my old XFR as a benchmark because it was amazing and this isnt even in the same ballpark!
Overall I am very happy with the car and these are my first thoughts after a week. I will update as time goes on.
In the end I love the car, it is totally mental but thats part of its charm for me!! If you are considering one and are OK with the negatives then go for it, life is WAY to short and having this car makes it all feel a little better!

Cheers all!

excellent - looks great.
I concur with some of your points from my test drive originally in a PP car - instantly felt harder riding than my M3 but also instantly felt quicker (150+lb/ft extra torque is noticeable). I also loved the sound on the test drive but after an hour and a half I did think to myself that potentially it could perhaps get a little bit 'too much'.
but anyway, saying that, I still ordered one and cant wait.
enjoy
