Think the wheels on my commuter are becoming a bit flexible/have worn hubs so I'm looking to get a replacement set - any recommendations please? Need to be solid, weight not really an issue since it's my commuter.

Thanks.

Yes, I use it single speed but occasionally like to switch it to fixed so would like to maintain the option for both. Standard road size (700C), it's a Specialized Langster. Don't want to spend huge amounts since it's just my commuter - £200? I'm getting to the point where I've spent more on tyres, brakes, bigger chainrings, chains and freewheels than I did on the original bike hehe

Just replace/adjust the bearings?

Alternatively Planet-X do some pretty good flip-flop wheel builds.

when building my brothers fixie, i bought a set of these V Sprint wheels

They're utterly fantastic for the money. he went for the quando hubs, which are adequate for his level of riding, but for your budget id be inclined to go up a level to these:

excellent value and hand built, and well within budget

Thanks - the second set are double fixed and tubs though, a no-no for my commute.

Halo Aerorage wheels aren't too bad, if you can stomach the faint hint of fixiett about them (potentially garish colours, mid-section at the cost of weight etc). Got a pair on my ss/f: do the job OK smile

+1 Have bought a few sets from 'Varno' through LFGSS - he did us a little discount on each so it might be worth PM'ing him through there.
