Just found this low mileage V8 Disco (Jap Import ??)

I know I've said in the past I would never buy an other Land Rover due to there reliability problem. But how good or bad can this be ??

Japanese cars doesn't suffer from rot anything like as badly as cars that live in the UK. The D2 has very bad chassis rot issues which are starting to rear their heads on a few the earlier high mileage cars, too.

However, other than that, the usual D2 V8 issues will still be an issue in time (slipped liners in the V8, air suspension/ACE, 3 amigos etc.), although at 31k there should be plenty of life left in it. Because of the miles and the fact it's a treated, rust free example makes it a little hard to value, but I can't help thinking it's still a little too expensive confused

If you really want the lowest mileage one out there, then maybe it's the way to go, but the asking price seems extremely steep, maybe purchase a cheaper example and keep the difference to either modify it as you would like, or keep it behind for rust preventative measures or repairs.

Jap examples are rot free usually due to them not using salt etc on the roads.

That is a pre face lift example, with the 02-04 facelift front lights. The face lift rear upper lights have the indicators fitted there, that one has them on the bumper.

Simmionites have car's advertised in a LR mag i read, they do seem a bit over priced but should have a good warranty etc with them.
You could call and ask about it to see if the price is moveable?

Might worth checking out insurance on an import. It may cost more to insure and may be valued lower.

As with any import and particularly one from Japan. Knowing the histories full history will not be 100% certain.
