My small car history.
Discussion
Hi there,
I can't remember if i started a thread when i passed(last November)so i thought now i have had a few cars i would start another thread!
First up is the Saxo, Bought the night i passed in the dark at the bargain price of £350, It came with 10 months MOT and 4 months tax! Had a blowout the day after i bought it(first day i was insured) ending up in me sliding out round a roundabout.
Only picture i have of it was in a carpark, I would love this car back as i stupidly sold it when my mother waved the keys to a punto under my nose...

That brings us to the Punto, Anyone who read my previous thread will know this story but anyway, here goes..
The tax was due up on the Saxo and i thought the grass was greener on the other side, Asking my mum to lend me the money for the tax on the saxo and idly mentioning i wanted something new, I found myself at Newport coach station with my girlfriend moaning about the flu she had, Got there and was told the car had to go back to the garage to have the clutch done, Came back the next day and the exhaust snapped off getting it off the truck.
Then when i first drove it i found out it had 179,000, No problem i thought there was receipts for a top end rebuild!

Oh my stupidity! Got home and sold the saxo(breaking even) and set about driving the punto as much as i could as you do with a new car, Seen blue smoke and panicked, PH diagnosed the piston rings, Went about sourcing a new engine, Took my girlfriend to Newport as she was out with her friend, Got rear ended by an unregistered asian taxi driver, With adrenalin rushing through me i couldn't feel a thing so stumbled out of the car, The bloke got aggresive and i passed out, Next thing i know there was a police officer talking to me about the bloke being on his phone.
Anyway i went to the hospital to find i had a broken a bone behind my clavicle, had horrendous whiplash(no,Seriously!) and couldn't feel my fingers, Car was declared Category C and was returned to me, My intention had been to return it to the road and sell on as a project, When my girlfriends dad took it to the MOT station the news got worse, It must have had a fake MOT as it was rotten underneath and obviously failed the emissions..
Bought with 12 months MOT and no tax for £550, Insurance paid out £505 and i got £100 scrap,
When I received the cheque from the insurance the money was burning a hole in my pocket and i wanted something to drive!
Enter Frank The Tank!

Its a 2001 on an X registration 1.3 Flight, I bought it for £450 with 11 months MOT and 3 months tax, It hasn't been plain sailing with this one either, Shortly after i bought it i took a trip home to Weymouth in it, Due to me leaving the engine running while being stopped for half an hour and the fan not cutting in i blew the pressure cap(it decided to go a bit later) on the side of the M4 by the Magor services for anyone that knows it.
£94 later i had upgraded with the AA to be towed home, then £10 for a new pressure cap from Ford and i was on my way again! Made it there and had the delight of my psycho sister kick my back lights in!
Got a new set for free and that was sorted!
Anyway sorry for the long post but it goes on!
Apparently as the claim wasn't my fault i still get my no claims bonus because my insurance claimed everything from the other guy's insurance as he admitted liability i shall be buying something else come November time.
I got offered A 2001 Jaguar S type 3.0V6 from my stepdad for £900,

In November I can insure this beast for around what i currently pay for my fiesta(Madness!)
Anyway apart from it looking a bit Drug dealerish at the moment i thought it was a bargain and certainly a lot of car for the money!
And before i forget this was my car when i was 17, Learning to drive so my mum and stepdad bought be a chav wagon!
Rover 214SLI bought for the bargain price of £150!
Anyway Guys thanks for reading and i know it will have taken a while!
Any criticism is welcome on the cars, Not spelling or punctuation as i know i'm thick!
Cheers
Steve
