or thereabouts. I'm after a 5.1 system for my son's room, that he can plug his TV, Xbox, PS3, and any other bits into. He uses the consoles for DVD's and Blu-ray at the moment but I could get a surround sound system with a blu-ray. I was hoping to get something for around £150 but can go up a bit. Any ideas?

Something by Logitech will do it.

I've used their stuff for my PC which is fine, but how do they compare to the bigger brands for home entertainment stuff like Sony, LG etc (I realise £150 is the cheapest end for branded stuff)?

In the nicest possible way, IMO for this kind of money you're not going to notice an awful lot of difference especially as it's not for main room use smile Maybe others will have another POV.

Thank you for your tact smile and I understand what your saying, hence why I put the bit about it only being £150. If there's not that much difference I'll look at Logitech stuff. Thanks for the advice.

If it helps, I bought a 40w 2.1 Logitech system as a stop gap until I got my separates home cinema system and it was really quite impressive especially for the £40 (1 quid a watt hehe) I paid.

rather than buy 5.1 have you thought about a stereo amplifier and stereo speakers, sound quality would be far better.
