Bikes stolen Hayes//Bromley
Discussion
Sadly not an uncommon event but just in case anyone sees or hears anything a bright orange Orange RX9 cyclocross size 54 and a silver/grey LeMond Etape size53 were stolen from our place last night. It may be several weeks before they appear on eBay, gumtree etc.
Of more concern was the thieves smashed a garage window first to take a look and in doing so showered my Carrera 3.2 in broken glass.

Do you know what time abouts it happened? Went down the Common with a few mates after the New Inn had closed, was sat on the main bench just before midnight looking towards the road and saw three bikes being ridden across the common.
Only one bike had a front light on, commented to my friend that it looked rather suspect, was two far away to make out details of the bikes unfortunately.

Somebody riding with a bike light - that is indeed suspect!Only one bike had a front light on, commented to my friend that it looked rather suspect, was two far away to make out details of the bikes unfortunately.
Seriously though, sorry to hear of the OP's loss. I don't live far away so I'll keep my eyes peeled.
The one with the light wouldn't arouse suspicion riding into woodland at night but the other two definitely would, its pretty dark as its dense vegetation without any streetlights and lots of tree roots about. Why would you go riding into woodland at midnight without lights unless you were fleeing/upto no good?
That's a possible sighting then, stolen from Bourne Way between 11.30pm and 6.00am and from the bits thrown away (such as old race numbers) they headed towards the New Inn from my house. I don't expect to see them again. Neither bike had any lights, in fact my roadie had eggbeaters on it so it wouldn't have been a comfortable ride for whoever took it.
