After having confirmed in this topic ( http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ) that i should finally scratch my TVR itch i'm thinking of getting a Chimaera, but apart from seeing them at the local meets, i've never actually had a proper look around one, or even sat in one.

Are there any owners in the Southend area that would be happy to show me around their car, i'd just like to see how much room there is with the roof up, how big the boot is, and maybe be taken for a little passenger ride to see if it's the car for me.

Cheers.

There's loads around Sarfend, and a garage that services them.

Medic! Finally leaving the GTO fold eh? Can't say I blame you, with all the issues you have had with it. I chopped my GTO in for a Chimaera last year (and haven't regretted it once), but I still attend the Essex meet with Rob etc.

I won't be at the next meet on Tuesday unfortunately, but the next one after I will be able to attend and you are more than welcome to look round it. Just be aware it has become loving known as the "Canoe" - check out an Essex meet thread on GTO UK for some gentle ribbing.

I find the bible either very detailed or very vague depending on which section you are using, however it is helpful and you probably should have one, particularly for the buying a TVR bit.

Also useful

I'm in Billericay if you want to have a look around my car, mines also not totally standard, its got blue hoses and stonechips...

Cheers for that guys.

I replied in the other topic about that memorial run, and as their finishing point is walking distance from our home i can walk down with the misses, so we can start the "what colour" discussion biggrin

Just had a look through that .pdf guide and it looks quite handy.

Is that the actual guide you can buy on that website, or is it just a small section of it ? If it's only a section i'll probably buy the whole thing to do some pre-buying reading up.

Hey Monster! Only just realised who you are after looking at the GTO in your garage and thinking "hey i've been round to yours to drop off or pick up some parts once".

Good to hear you're pleased with the transaction from GTO to Chim. Who knows, in a few months there might be 2 chims at the gto essex meet wink

The buying guide is in the bible, this is a bit of it,

http://shengltd.com/shpub/tvrbooks/ChimpGuide.pdf

in the book there are about 5 or 6 pages of sensible advice

It's only a small part and its growing, well worth a fiver particularly if you intend servicing it yourself. I also find the bible invaluable and recommend you get it

No nothing has happened yet.

We've had the offer on the house we want accepted and our house is sold, so just waiting to move now, but at least I've got a garage now!

Ha - I think my ad In the classifieds has actually expired! Don't think the car has been out of the garage for a few months now - too much stuff going on to have any time to drive it frown
