Quaife Sequential Gearbox Rebuild
Discussion
I've just bought an Elise with a Quaife 6 speed sequential gearbox in it (QKE10R). It is almost new and seems great, but I don't really know what maintenance it will need. From what I read Quaife themselves do not set any sort of recommendation. What is people's experience and what do you actually replace as part of it's servicing?

Is there actually anything wrong with it ?
Not yet. I race in China though, so need to plan for preventative maintenance as I can't pick parts up as easily as in Europe or the US and there's about a 2 week lead time to get parts delivered and through customs into the country. With a sequential gearbox the main thing to keep an eye on is the condition of the drive dogs on the dog rings and the main shaft gears as these take a lot of abuse. I would keep a stock of the o rings and seals and a gearbox set of dog rings as an absolute minimum, if you can afford it a spare set of ratios and a gearbox set of bearings would enable you cover a basic failure at the track.
