Ford Focus 1.6 LX

Hi Fellow PHers,
Just joined and thought I oughta introduce myself. Im Jase, the owner of a rather annoying petrol 2003 Ford Focus 1.6 LX. I bought it in mid December 2012 as an interim measure. Changed the Cam belt assembly imemdiately as the car was over 10 years old.
I've had problems with my EMS light intermittently coming on and off, juddering when changing gears and lack of power. At the recent MOT Bristol Street Motors, Cheltenham changed the Engine Coil Pack but that hasn't made much difference as the EMS light came straight back on and the strange revving and lack of power remained. They reckon it could be a MAF sensor (which seems like the stock excuse all these places use when an EMS light is on) but its in for diagnosis on Saturday morning.
Anyone had issues like this with a 2003 Focus LX?
Looking to upgrade soon as the car is simply too small for what I need it for....so watch this space. Wont be trading it in though. May keep it for fun/project or gift it to the better half for a runaround.
