My TomTom live 1000 overheated last week while driving. Since then the live services are very hit and miss ( more miss actually) and the battery although it says it is at 85% is empty, so to power the sat nav it has to be plugged in. I've tried resetting, as I have to do this just to turn it on, and I've tried updating without any luck, as it says there are updates but won't show what is currently installed.

Does anyone have any tips, or do I bite the bullet and get a new one as the traffic avoidance is important for my job

Live services have been rather hit and miss in last week - for me it was down Thursday and Friday up Sunday (didn't use it Saturday), down Monday Morning and half journey Wednesday morning - There were some discussions about it on TomTom Forums.

You might find some useful suggestions about battery issue on PocketGpsWorld.com
