Hi,

I have been asking for quotes for a new boxster and cayman but the dealer is quoting 9%-9.5% on the finance, has anyone managed to get a fairly decent deal on porsche finance ?

I have not been for a test drive yet, as im pretty sure i will love it and dont want to experience that until i have an acceptable finance offer to work with.

you can get a loan at 5% or add it to your mortgage at 2.5% just remember to pay it off early :-)

I have no idea why people take out dealer finance.... when you can add it to your mortgage or get a loan for half that !!!

but as the 2nd post said , this gets asked every week.

probably because most people want a minimal deposit and big balloon thereby equalling much smaller monthly payments, something they cant do with a mortgage extension or loan, and i know reducing therates greatly reduces the total cost of finance between the two but the real barrier is the much greater monthly payment, also a lot of banks arent keen on lending on 50k plus cars.

But it's all been said, month on month here, if you need a big balloon to buy a car , can you really afford that car in the 1st place !
and the answer to that is prob no, either that or your are stinking rich and don't mind paying out 10k in interest, it's just a number.

having a 9% PCP and paying that on a Balloon you never pay off is financial suicide in my eyes and the single most expensive way to buy a car today and dealers love it.

Also most need quite a big deposit on a 50k car you will find, as a small monthly payment and a small deposit don't go hand in hand, dealers need to make sure if you hand it back in 3 years they can make money on it, that's what you are funding ;-).

I don't call 10k down and £650 a month cheap which is what a 981 S will be. with cira 9 k interest paid.

Of course you will get some people here saying they can make 15% net PA investing lol, but look at the cars they drive in their profile and then the number never match the talk...

Here we go again.

I recommend trying the C of E - apparently they do great interest rates.

How about actually answering the OP's question?
If you don't have the answer, save him the lecture.......

According to the Porsche website there is a lower APR offer on the Boxster and a deposit contribution from the dealer.

How are you getting on with discounts?
