V8S - Cooling System
Could somneone pls confirm for me - One cap is pressuised and the other non. Does the pressurised cap go on the small expansion container or on the top of the 'tower ' in front of the engine.

DOH !

Worms Can Opened...

I think after reading various threads the answer seems to be, if your system is working then leave it alone. If your system is not performing then try the other way round and if that doesn't work then you may have other problems

Are you having probs at the moment ?

If you're not having problems, don't try to fix it. I've seen the pressure cap on either end, seems to work fine both ways.

Plain cap on the metal swirl tank, standard 15 lb pressure cap on the plastic header tank. But the other way round works too. The main thing is that the pressure cap has to produce a good seal, and if the pressure cap is on the header tank the blank cap has to produce a good seal too. If you have a dodgy cap or the header tank has a knackered seat then swapping the caps over can hide this problem.

Thanks. I am not having a problem but had the car serviced recently at Techniques. Excellent service. Brian there noticed the caps the wrong way round and restored them to the correct position but was concerned as to why they were as they were.
