So, I'm probably going to take a punt on this - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

However, last time I tried to get a Sony stereo fitted, the surround wouldn't quite fit without having to shave a small amount off the dash itself - I wasn't prepared to let Halfords to that! Granted, not all cars are created equally, but since I have a Pioneer already, I guess there is more chance this will fit?

I can't measure it exactly since the car is actually being re-sprayed at the moment, so for £30 I'm prepared to take a punt. But am curious if anyone else has fitted one without issue?

Dammit - I typed a long-ish answer and PH flipped and lost it.

Install the metal frame, slide the stereo in, then there is a black plastic, cosmetic surround that clips on to hide the frame.

mine needed a tiny shave with a dremmel to fit - no need to do the dashboard...

Mine looks almost identical to that one and is a Pioneer too..

Exactly the same for my car as Jules. I've just fitted a new (Alpine) head but no dremmelling required.

Good luck and at £30, you can't go wrong really.

I bought it this time last year at £173......and the DAB ones re now cheaper? Pure have just brought out two, difference being Bluetooth or not.
I have had issues with the Pioneer, but I always have issues with the illogical way they work. Who programmes these things?

Thanks for the heads up on this offer, £30 well spent. Took all of 10 mins to fit, no wiring just plugged in and the sound is a good quality.
