This hot weather has tested my T350s cooling system. It has done well, despite the outside temp reading 33C.
I checked that the fans were working, and noticed that at 95-100C water temp, only the offside one was running. I know they start at different temps. Which way round is this? Offside then nearside or nearside then offside?

You are doing better than me. With both fans running, it can hit 105. At that point its squeaky bum time!yikes

Where is the ambient temp sensor supposed to be located?

Dunno. Judging from its usual readings, pretty certain mine is IN the cylinder head wink

Now have both running at 100c. An expert (!) tells me the ECM can be changed for them to kick in at lower temps, he suggests 85c.

had similar probs with mine , car just been in for service..

the temp on the dash is 10 degrees more than the ecu temp..

so when hooked upto laptop diagnostics fans were cutting in at ? 91 , and 93.7

so all was ok ,even tho dash was showing much higher temps..

solution is to fit a resistor on the red wire for the dash sender unit (later senders read out)

have checked this by retro fitting an old sender unit and temps are fine.
