Whilst looking at Coastal Command Aircraft following the Mossie thread I stumbled over this documentary and think its worthy of its own thread. Some excellent gun cam footage, stories from those that flew them (and with them) and no personal journey type of backdrop to annoy you anoraks.

Why the little barbed comment at the end.

"Anoraks" like me are quite interested in personal stories. Indeed, I will devour any biography of airmen or soldiers that recall their war experiences.

What I don't like is the modern tend to trivilaise a subject by bringing in a non-related personal "journey" type tale to spice up the "human interest" aspect to the story.

There are plenty of genuine human interest aspects to the Mosquito or the Beaufighter that could be be brought into such a documentary without trivialising the programme.

Thanks for the link though. I'll watch this when I get the chance.
