Crap telly- "Monster Moves - Spectacular Spitfire"

Nothing else on, thought it would kill some time. Channel 5, by the way.
The show was stuffed full of woeful graphics as 'filler', and seemed more concerned with shipping containers than classic fighters. Shockingly inaccurate and dumbed down to the point of melting my mind, I spat out my tea when the narrator mentioned that the American collector buying and shipping the Spitfire out to the US already owned a "rare World War One Tiger Moth".
Worse was to come, in the form of a graphic depicting a Spitfire spinning toward the vast expanses of the Atlantic Ocean, as the narrator explained that it was a short range fighter with a fuel capacity of 85 gallons. FFS, could you not just have told us that flying it over the Ocean was not possible due to the limited range of the aeroplane? Did I really need a CGI animation of a 'plane splashing into the Ocean to understand the consequences?
Suffice to say, I turned it off seconds later. I'd almost rather watch Big Brother. Almost.

I got the feeling it was an English version of an American programme with an English presenter reading the original script.
There was something said about the Spitfire being designed by a team of engineers, no mention of RJ Mitchell.
Also, they said "The Spitfire was powered by the Rolls Royce Packard Merlin engine." Obviously trying to give their country a bit of credit.
Everything the team did was billed as potentialy a disaster to try and make it all dramatic.

Seeing as it was a programme about moving things, and not about Spitfires, I thought it was fine. The graphics were a bit silly but harmless. There was plenty of input from the technicians.
Would have liked to have seen more of the first flight though.

Cardinal sin must be putting one of their stupid songs on whenever the engine was running so you didnt get to hear the bloody aircraft!
