At today's sprint race at knockers I was experiencing what could be described as boost cut, an electrical cut or a fuel cut type issue.

Only on sharp right handers and never on full power, just when I'm lifting or the suspension is fully loaded up and bottoming out. The power would disappear completely but before I could say what the fk? It was off again and all fine. It only happened 3/4 times out of 25 laps.

I did have 3/4 of a tank so it's not a shortage of fuel, more likely to be an earth or something.

Anyone had similar and have ideas of what to check? The earth strap at the rear of the engine is fine,

I qualified 2nd, finished 2nd.

Winning car was 750bhp space framed focus RS, beat me by 1 second. I did a 53.9 on 888's, my best on slicks so far (with traffic) is 53.6, looks like I need to man up on the slicks, saying that the 888's get too hot after 3 laps so useless for racing.

I get the same on 888s up there, thought it was down to my driving though!
Thats a good result though and would have won class b! Did you run high boost?
Should be an interesting race today on wet track in reverse!
All the best!

Graham, check for sharp things touching the loom, especially self tapping screws in the tunnel, I spent ages tracking down a fault with similar symptoms to yours. It was a self tapping screw touching the loom and shorting to the clutch hose.

It's now turned into really bad misfire on any sort of power, don't have time to check loom today but changed coils and spark plugs just in case.

Chances are its probably water getting into something as the rain is pouring down all day. Everything is soaked.

Unbaaaaaalievable, It was the rollover valve, for some reason the ball was stuck in the up position and created a vacuum in the tank which only got worse the more I drove it, I only figured it out once I went to fill the tank and there was a huge vacuum, was a struggle to pull the cap off, motorsport rollover valve my arse, that could have killed my engine, seems to run fine now. Final in an hour so hopefully I'll have some good news later!

Realise you've already mentioned them but Jetstream traced the source of my misfire to the spark plugs. Best of luck finding the cause.
