Adios muchachos...
Discussion
Well, I am afraid to say that my beast of 3 years disappeared up the road today, on a permanent basis! As some of you may have seen, it was up on the sales board, and my phone hasn't stopped ringing, now it has gone...
typical!
Am now trevorless for the first time in 6 years
!
On the upside, I spent some time at racing green today, with money burning a big hole in my pocket! But what to buy... what to buy

Hey, Nick -
- HRH Tony seems insistent upon me spending more time on the war canoes - I might as well!!! (remarkably, I currently have more 'fleet time' than a Navy crewman who is working with us at the moment, and he has been in 22 years!)
Anyway, I refute that a Shaguar is the dark side - I can't put a supercharger on a Cerbera!

Hmmm. Two valves per cylinder and the general engine layout will almost certainly lead to the engine going 'pop'.
Furthermore, it just isn't worth (to me) the expense of doing it or the risk of it all going tragically wrong, when I can have one ready made and purpose built. After all, my beast was an everyday car, not a pampered and garaged 'fair weather only' motor

I seem to remember mentioning to Andy at APM, in passing, that supercharging would be an interesting option - there's space for it, after all. When he eventually stopped crying with laughter he reckoned the engine would last microseconds before blowing itself to bits.
Andy, if you read this and it wasn't you then I am sorry for misattributing the info but at least it shows we all respect your opinions!!
Beej"
Sorry for the crude copy/paste - I am not sure how to link to another thread! None the less, Andy is still of this opinion, as I spoke to him about it recently. So, SXS, I truly hope you have managed to borrow someone elses motor to strap a supercharger to before you damage your own cracking motor.
On the other hand, you might just prove us wrong...

First of all, if you knew what was actually involved in the Forced Induction project, then you'd have a better understanding...
also - remember - the block is aluminium - and is actually one of the strongest aluminium blocks out there - but everything else (is cack! chocolate parts) is being thrown away and replaced with custom forged/billet components...
if Andy at APM did say what you have quoted - then I'm sure he was relating his thoughts to just the standard engine being lightly modded to run a blower with big boost - and I will join in with the laugh on that one too!
this is uncommon knowledge, but I wont say who, but I know of an individual who managed to squeeze in two turbos into his Cerbera - but totally wrecked it (crank cracked in 3 and rods twisted and pistons made it into the heads! there and then whilst testing the engine on a test bed - it didnt even make it back into the car! god knows how much boost he had it set at (it was a 4.2).... the same fella now owns a Porkie 911 bi-turbo jobbie...

Fair dincum, me old!
Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, I am sure your research is up to scratch. I merely assumed you were strapping a big fan to the front! However, I think to blow my (ex) cerbera might have ended up the same way as WO's first Bentleys, and 'Tim' Birkin's, too, for that matter.
