Viking Challenge
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm doing the Viking Challenge in October as i'm currently fully rotund and wanted an excuse to buy a shiny new bike for motivation.
I've got a Specialized Camber I pick up on Wednesday and was thinking a pair of padded shorts and a new bladder for my old Camelback would see me all set?
I'll be doing a few rides around Rutland Water and some local ones around Market Deeping but essentially have no training plan.
I'm currently about 116 kilos and 5 foot 11".
My last foray into biking was when the Box One was new so i've been away from riding for a long long time now.
Dave!

All being well I'll be doing this this year. I intended to do it last year but broke my elbow a couple of weeks before.
As for a training plan, just get out and ride, get your legs and lungs used to some effort.
I've not done the Viking, but a buddy has and by all accounts it's not a particularly demanding route, so as long as you've done some training you should be fine.
