Hi guys,

Looking for a little help, when I changed my starter a few months back the right hand side would only do up finger tight, I'm presuming the last time it was changed they over tightened and stripped the thread !!!

Now I can tighten it up without the starter, so ideally I need a slightly longer version of what on it, in order to tighten it up.

Or option two I go for a slightly larger imperial thread and tap it, but not sure what size I would need ???

Any help much appreciated, thanks guys

I think they are m10. Might be worth helicoiling it instead of going imperial. Keep it a standard size

Yes I was thinking about that but worried about swarf when drilling out and the end of the helicoil dropping into bell housing and causing damage. Do the bolts go all the way through ? Can't really see with my light ??

I had to do this a year or so ago, helicoil was the option taken and to do it properly it was a gearbox out job I am afraid.

Thought that might be the answer, ive managed to to get a slightly longer m10 to catch the last remaining thread and will keep fingers crossed !! Then next time the clutch / slave needs changing ill get it helicoiled.
