I'm rebuilding my Caterham this winter. I plan on sending the chassis off to be repowdercoated and repaneled. Once back, I would like to go to town on corrosion protection. It seems like the best time as it'll just be a paneled chassis.

What are the best products. I'd ideal like to try and get a coating of something between the ally skin and steel chassis.

Is Waxoil still the thing, or just the used name for the treatment?

I've heard of Dintol being shouted about.

Any proven methods?

I'd recommend Bilt Hamber's products for corrosion protection. They're very helpful and happy to give advice should you need.

You're probably best to use either rubber or plastic between the ally & steel, I doubt many paints (or even the powder coating) will be enough of a barrier.

Unfortunately I won't be panelling it, so it's not easy for that to happen. Although I had planned to power coat the chassis and the back side of the panels, so i've implemented one extra layer already.
