Memory cards

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend me a memory card please? Currently using a Sandisk 8gb, can't remember from the top of my head whether its an Ultra or Extreme but I can get about 900-1000 pics on it before its full, standard not RAW.
I'm going away at the beginning of October on honeymoon and looking to buy another card or two so that I'm not restricted too much if I fill my normal one. Is there any problem going for a bigger card in the camera, say 16Gb or even 32-64Gb? What are others using please?

Also can anyone recommend any places to go in southern Cornwall?

I use Lexar Pro. The general advice is to use several smaller cards rather than one mahoosive one, so if it corrupts (or more likely you pull it out while it's still thinking) you don't lose everything, only some.

I've recently bought some of these for use in my 550D:

Sandisk Extreme SDHC of 16GB or higher capacity gives 45MBs read and write speeds which should be satisfactory for most things (especially if using jpg files). From the right retailer they are sensibly priced. That said, realistically just about anything on the market will probably do. You tend to see better performance from the larger cards.

Price differences between 8GB and 16Gb cards ar not so much these days that choosing the performance larger card over the smaller is a serious concern but using multiple cards (or having something to back up to) makes sense though I have rarely had a problem. Sandisk also provide access to their Recovery software that works well. (I know because for a short while I had a CF card that was troublesome from new (Not Sandisk). The software recovered all but the files that were being written as the card failed.)

AFAIK the 60D will take all SD size card types.
