Hi all - I can't believe I'm asking for instructions!

Does anyone have the instructions for the premium audio system, in particular how to work the iPod? Also - can you change the connector to the iPod to the iPhone 5 lightening connector?

Thanks in advance!

I've looked through my manual and there isn't much in the way of "instructions"! There is some great basic set up info in the Wiki at the top of the AM forum, but not sure that's what you're looking for. I don't have an ipod connector, but believe a simple adaptor will see you on your way to iPhone 5 happiness smile

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I'd completely forgotten that they made adapters for the old 30 pin connectors to the new lightening design.....Fleabay here I come! :-)

The iTunes software in the iPhone 5 won't work on the premium sound system. You can buy adapters (do a Pistonheads search to see some threads).

I converted some MP4 file to MP3 onto a USB storage disk and play them through the sound system.

This isn't just an Aston problem, I have Bose HiFi that also won't read MP4 signals. I blame Apple.

Assuming it's easy to navigate a USB? I can't work out how to use the iPod function!

Easy. Plug the USB in the arm rest storage area (next to the iPod connector, fiddly but do-able), choose USB from the source list on the radio and you are away...

I find the USB thing easier to use than iPod, you can put files in different directories and switch between them, or play all.

I got a couple if tiny 16GB USB sticks, so I can leave them in all the time.

I have the older system with a retro-fitted iPod connector and my iPhone5 will not work with the lightning adapter. I get an "unreadable" message and what is more it crashed the rest of the system as well (see recent thread on quiet hifi). However, it does charge the phone up...and I have got the rest of the system back working. On another "Apple quirkiness" note if I use an Apple computer to fill the USB key it also fills it with an empty file with the same name as the music file except it begins with a "." The Aston system reads both files and is a bit confusing.
