after the weekend run i checked the oil and it was low so i topped up, but put in too much about2 inches above the "screw" is this anything to worry about?

I think you'll find that it will just burn off without any problems.

What's the quantity required to go from bottom to top of scale anyone? I guess it's about one litre.
