Hi All

I just thought I would share this.

http://www.thetileapp.com/

Its a new product that allows tracking via an iOS app, quite cool, can be placed easily in the car and only cost £16. The only other cost would be the purchase of a baseball bat for when you track your car down ;-)

I have a tracker as it has an insurance saving, so im not saying its a replacement, however this could be a low cost alternative if you want to keep track of where the car is.

If it's anything like the one I ripped out of mine, there will be quite a bit of it too!

An interesting product and priced to sell - it obviously relies on the crowd of other Tile users to locate things past 100-odd feet so there would need to be a lot of UK users to make it useful as a car locator. Good though and with pre-orders of over $2.6M for a product not launching for at least 6 months those guys (and their backers) must be well pleased.

Not sure about this. My wife's Audi has a tracker which was something like £300 to activate for 3 years with the insurance saving of something like £15/year. Certainly a cheap alternative like this makes much more sense.

Yep Tracker fitted to my M12 when I bought it, price I was quoted to activate was £150 per year!! Phoned insurance to see how much it would reduce the premium the answer was £6 per year!!!
