Prudential Ride London Freecycle 8 mile laps
Discussion
I would love to do that, but I'm going to be at the Y Not Festival in Derbyshire for 4 days.
about not cycling for those 4 days, but the music ought to more than make up for it. Great line up all weekend. I fully expect my fitness to have taken a bit of a hit by Sunday, though....

....and repeat until 'We Are The Ocean' finish playing on Sunday night

Taking my son up, we pre-registered so got sent a hi-vis vest and a number for the bike, they're using the numbers so you can get a photo online later.
They're expecting 30,000+ cyclists so don't expect any KoM's or indeed to go as fast as a normal day in traffic.
well maybe my fake 30 min lap will remain Kom They're expecting 30,000+ cyclists so don't expect any KoM's or indeed to go as fast as a normal day in traffic.
The only other Sky ride I did was full of people who never really cycled, ambling around.. Strava was far from anyones mind.
A mate, who has a 25 year old mountain bike, that he's had since new, is keen to go along. I think I will, and will just be on the fixed gear, so not chasing segment times.

Think that is almost the same route that was used on the last Sky Ride a couple of years ago. I guarantee it will get busy very quickly so if you want to do any hot laps get there very early. Otherwise it fills up with lots of little kids who have little or no concept of straight lines and once a year cyclists wearing flip flops.
Thought the Saturday would be nice to do with my daughter but I've just looked up the road closures on the Sunday
I live in SW London and happen to have to work in the Olympic Park (Not bicycle related) on Sunday. I have to be there at 0730 so the train/tube combo won't work but it looks like the motorcycle option is going to be very difficult indeed plus the necessary buses are not running.
Considering most of the bridges go across the cycle route, why are they all closed? My only option is London Bridge, which will be fun as all the motorised transport will be funneled there, but the only access to my work is via the A12 which looks like it's closed for the event.
I know many will say that it is only one day in a year or so but why on the one day I have to head to a new client and impress them.
Law of Sod.
