Honda Jazz Sport ( thats right ).

Here is the Jazz sport I bought for the wife, it has replaced a MK1 Focus that ran flawlessly for six years, so it has got a lot to live up to. The Sport bit means it has Alloys, Skirts, different Bumpers and stiffer Suspension.
What's it like you ask yourselves, its not fast and has slightly too light steering but is very chuckable, it reminds me of 80s warm hatch to drive, very direct and feels very light, it has a 7 speed flappy paddle gearbox and more importantly, a 1.4 non turbo petrol engine, it was an impulse buy off a relative, it cost 4 grand and has 60k on it with a full Honda service history.

Look at that.

You will notice it has the very rare roof spoiler, this aids downforce greatly.

Seriously, I expect this little car to get flamed on here, but trust me it is a cracker, the Wife and I argue over it, I st you not, it is just so much fun after driving a BMW, at the moment it is returning 44 mpg, that with Aircon on flat out , short tripping around the local villages, the versatility is amazing, the rear seats fold completely flat, I can piss taking aside honestly recommend this car, as an added bonus its a Honda, it aint goona break, it aint gonna rust.

Funnily enough a Civic or Jazz is on the list to replace Mrs C's focus.

I don't know a lot about Civics', but the Jazz has to be the most practical supermini about, the sport one is a lot of fun as well, I don't know what the standard one is like to drive.

I like them. although it's ironic that a Sport model's add-on bits just slow the car down.

I thought about one before getting the Aygo, but the Jazz's mpg was too low.

I have heard that, the previous owner suffers arthritis and couldn't turn the rotary heater controls on her first Jazz, Jazz number two had digi climate, no rotary knobs just buttons(this one), but she had to spec the Sport model to get it, she is on Jazz number three now, this one sat on the drive for 18 months before I bought it, they just never got around to selling it, very laid back.
She has said this Jazz was the best out of the three, the stiffer suspension makes it more fun to drive, but it has a hard ride.

I've never seen a Sport version of the Jazz before. It does look really nice inside and out.

The ground clearance looks a little low especially at the front; do you have any issues with speed bumps? Perhaps it looks worse than it is since it's parked on grass.

The Jazz is a really good no-nonsense car. Bulletproof, super practical and surprisingly good fun to chuck around (IMHO). The owners seem to love them. You can do far worse for the money.

I've seen look-a-likes of the OP's Jazz, but never recognised them as a "Sport"... Having said this, Jazzes (sp?) are the car to have for young 'uns in Australasia rather than their "coffin dodger" image here (make 'the propective buyer breathe on a mirror" etc ).

I'm driving the missus' Jazz 1.2 as my daily driver at the moment. I've slagged it for a poor driving position and the "play station" steering in the past, but now I'm working on the driving seat adjustments the sciatica has diminished greatly .

It also did 48mpg on the last tank, and driving it like a lazy git (leaving it in as high a gear as possible for as long as possible) it's as accelerative as my 309 1.6 and MG Maestro 1600 - it's just totally bereft of any impression of pulling away nicely . I must admit it hangs on pretty nicely in the twisty stuff as well - it's just so clinical in how it drives, unlike my preferred '80s tin .

Does it have a CVT transmission? I had a rental 1.4L Jazz once that had that fitted, which was hilariously quick for its size because when you booted it, it held its maximum power rev, and just accelerated. With no gears to go up, it was much faster than it should have been. Only downside was that the engine sounded like it was going to burst! I found no benefit to the quasi 7 speed transmission as it simply worked better doing its own thing.

I have just bought the wife a white Jazz Si, all the go faster gear apart from where it matters.

They are good cars, cavernous inside and do what's needed for driving her and the little one around.

Another 20bhp would be useful!

Very well designed, incredibly practical and super reliable cars. They may not be very exciting to drive, but they're certainly not "st".

My mum bought a 1.4 SE model brand new just before they changed to the new model. A fantastic car, practical, reliable, quiet good on fuel as well. My mum is not the best of drivers (rides the clutch, forgots to change up) but its lapped up the punishment and in 40k miles the interior still looks like new.

I took it for a spin the other day and I had to check the engine was still running when I stopped at a junction it was so quiet.
