So when cleaning my bike down and praying oil on the gear I somehow thought it was a good idea to spray the brake discs and calipers. Now they don't work very well surprisingly.
Is there any tips you have to clean WD40 off, soapy water perhaps??

Soapy water, white spirits and maybe fine grade sandpaper. Good luck.

Don't know, but maybe a degreaser of some sort?

Might be a bit obvious but this sounds like a job for Brake Cleaner.

clean it off and ride your bike. They wont work well to start with but the temps will soon remove any oil.

I'll try soap and water tomorrow night before I go for a ride.

Try the brakes out before you start riding down any steep hills with dual-carriageways running across the bottom of them!

I'd like to think that was obvious, but then again I'd like to think not spraying oil on brake discs would be too! hehe

I did the same last week with my bike, covered the brakes with TF2!

The mechanics gave it a liberal coating of Fenwicks brake cleaner and they worked great!

Didn't manage to get out on the bike tonight I have been working in the rain today and decided to go to the guy instead. Plus I'm expecting a few things to arrive in the post tomorrow for my bike so will give the brakes a good clean while fitting new stuff.
