I spent £1200 on a service last week on my Vantage. They had it for a week as I was away on business. Clearly a bird has crapped on the rear wing (coastal dealer) and its clearly been on all week and they washed the car before they handed it over to me (they told me they just washed it).
All the good service undone. Noticed when I got home. Tried to polish it out but its not happening. Just fed back on their follow up survey email.
I haven't complained as I didn't think they would believe me. I know its the case as I washed it before it went in and I know every little mark on the car.
Lets see if I get any feedback from the dealer...
Sorry just wanted to tell someone about it :-( Gutted

Been there with my RRS it went in for some work and came back covered in Sea Gull crap, most annoying had to go straight out and wash it there and then.

You really don't want bird lime eating in to your P&J"s top coat especially if its been deposited by some toxic arsed Gull.

Incidentally when I pointed the festooned mess out to the driver he acknowledged it by saying"Ya we've got a gull problem off the docks".

Great, never heard another thing until they rang me up to see why I had stopped sending vehicles in for service.

Rant over so I just hope it hadn't had time to eat in and hopefully you'll get a better response than I encountered.thumbup

Shame. Had you been more local, I would've sorted it out for you. It will need to machine polished out. Try and find your nearest Detailer.

Thank you Gents and thanks Paddy for your kind offer. I actually have a machine polisher and polished it when I got it but tried just elbow grease and assumed the machine polish wouldn't get at it but I'll try it

All depends what polish and pad combo you use. Never let a dealer polish a car for you.

Had a bird mark machined on mine shortly after purchase and the machine took it out fine. Expensive bird crap though!

Couldn't agree more.

I used to take my car to a dealer in Exeter until after one service they "washed" it - using the one bucket and old rag method. Needless to say they lost my business. frown

I used to take my Griffith to a dealer in Chichester who were also Aston dealers. There was a lady there who cleaned the cars and she really took a pride in her work, not just two buckets she had an entire workshop full of cleaning stuff. She was excellent but generally I agree I tell them not to bother cleaning it.

UPDATE.
You won't believe this. Well I couldn't. After my complaint and subsequently low score on the service CSI feedback they banned me from the dealership. I can't find words and I'm shocked.
OK maybe I should have given them the chance to put the damage right, I except that. Still shocked though. A phone call from them asking to put it right would have done it.
WOW.
I called them after a I received the email (which basically said they wouldn't take my business anymore). I wanted to explain that the guy in service was fine but all the good work was undone by the bird poo. They were still funny with me. Sorry I'm a really reasonable person and feel maybe they should have called me. But to ban me?
Honestly feeling crap about Aston Ownership after only 2 months after having Porsche for 12 years.
Please help me feel better.....

Crap dealer (excuse pun) doesn't make a bad car, there are plenty of good dealers and indys available to you. Machine polish away the mark and enjoy your car until it needs its next service, tie it in with a road trip somewhere cool. I don't know the dealers on the coast, but very poor form.

They are not all like that, honest. Most Aston dealers will bend over backwards to help you and put things right. There are a few tales of dealers being bad, but the majority of experiencers are really great, and some going the extra mile too.

Most Aston dealers love the brand and the cars and know we love them too and we especially love our cars and want them to be looked after when not in our care.

This dealership need a good talking to about their treatment of their customers and their ability to communicate with people. If they don't like criticism, then why send out a survey for customers to complete???

If you get a bad score, then find out why and put it right, its a no brainer. They need to sort themselves out big time.

Go find a good Aston dealer, there plenty to choose from yes

Thanks guys. Its just that the next nearest dealer is over 100 miles away. I honestly today thought about selling the car and buying Porsche again. Really upset about how they have made me feel. Ownership is the whole experience. Gonna hang in there and take her for a drive at the weekend. I know I will feel better then
