Guys, can you help me with DVLA owner tracking?

...of my Jensen Interceptor, SUC900F, being exported from UK many years ago.

Just interesting to hear, who were`d previous owners.
I am not registered owner yet, and I am not from UK(((

Martin Robey can probably supply, for a fee, the build records and these will show the first owner, for whom the car was built. Also, ask on the JOC forum. The DVLA can also supply a list of previous keepers (note that in the UK a registered keeper of a vehicle is not necessarily the owner thereof).

I am in a similar boat, err car.
I have tried to get the DVLA 5 pounds for the records deal on my Daimler SP250 with no success.
I now live in the USA and my SP was exported to Canada around the early 90's I think. I have a spotted history of the car, and I am friends with a former UK owner of the car from 1970 to 75.
I filled in the DVLA paperwork, supplied a copy of the US title showing I was the owner, explaining the car was exported etc etc but no go. The chap that used to own it even tried for me but no joy.
Let us know if anyone knows how to 'work' the system?

Tried joining the DLOC? They could tell me all about my SP, where it was exported to,even the actual garage that originally ordered it.

I am and I have done that. I even got a copy of the first registration documents from Yorkshire records office! Its just the bits in between with the DVLA I would like to piece together.

Yes, I have Martin Robey car file, and I am member of JOC.

But perhaps DVLA records is something very different.

It is different: it is a State record. You can possibly obtain a list or partial list of previous keepers by applying to DVLA, and paying a small fee. That used to be the case, but the old list that accompanies my car may have pre dated the Data Protection Act. Anyway, ask DVLA.

I believe you have to be the current registered keeper in the UK to be able to obtain records of previous keepers from DVLA - there's every chance with an older exported vehicle that the details will have disappeared as part of a data cleanse anyway.

Conversely, does anyone know how to get in touch with the current registered keeper of a car?

I have some old pics of Mum's Healey which may be of interest to the current owner.

A DVLA vehicle check reveals that the old dog is still taxed...

Is the plate still on the same car? Presume it is to be able to check it's tax status

Owners club is probably the best place to start to try and find the current owner. You may get somewhere with DVLA but they're not a mail forwarding service so probably won't be terribly helpful.

If you wished to be slightly deceptive about it you can write to DVLA asking for the current keepers details because you believe the driver caused damage to your own car and you need to forward the details to your insurer
